What made you choose CrossFit True?
Kelly Blake. Seeing her at our kids` daycare, talking to her about my frustrations
regarding kids, training and weight. She strongly suggested I come by and it was
the greatest decision in a while.

How long have you been training with us?
About 8 months I believe. It doesn't really matter, it matters that I am  and I will.

What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?
I am usually proud every time I make it out of there alive. Also, doing anything
with the bar makes me proud as coming from a triathlon background it used to be
totally foreign to me to do a bar snatch or the likes and always stayed away.

When your not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?
I run an engineering firm which I founded in 2010 as well as serve my 4 and 1 yr
olds in various capacities from driver, chef and fashion consultant. I love
snowboarding and cycling. Now days, this depends strictly on Mo`s workouts.
Most of the time, I end up not walking so I have to reschedule these plans but when
I do hit the hills or mountains( which I did), I can actually fully squat and touch the
snow , do some powerful stuff and charge like I never did before.

How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?
My nutrition is usually good, not the best but good. The water intake has been a
great change since I joined CrossFit True and I make sure to drink at least 4-5 L,
about 1gallon + a day. I wasnt this disciplined before even when I trained 40 hrs a
week. I feel that changes everything, from appetite to recovery and now I just do it
naturally I do not have to force myself to drink.

What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises?
– The wall ball
-Front/back Bar Squat
– Burpee / Jumping Rope / CB Swings – Its a tie as I really like anything that will
bring my HR up fast

What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)
Amrap and rounds for time – anything time sensitive is good as it instills the
urgency on the matter and you have to get it done, FAST!

What about your favorite workout?
I truly don't have one. I really love the dynamics of each class, the stretching and
functional mobility part, the instructions for each movement as well as the
surprise. Its always a surprise to me and I cherish that.

Any favorite workout songs?
I like that the music is there but I don't notice the songs. As soon as the workout
starts, I am usually too worried and overdrinking about what I 'm doing. I like Eye
of the Tiger and if I get a chance I will blast it beside a fellow jogger or 2 

Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?
I am down 10 lbs and definitely have restructured the remaining ones. The mental
part for me is huge. I used to race triathlon at 150 lbs and now I am at 195-200.
Always ran and biked on and off since the kids came along and was never happy as
always compared times and paces with the me before kids era. Joining CrossFit
True has literally calmed me down. Mo has taken my guess factor out of the
equation and I love just following the workout knowing it is a good one. I feel very
very good about myself and I really dont care or focus as much on the weight loss
or the small things anymore. Mo also always puts things in perspective for me,
which at times or most of the time I dont and that is very valuable to me.

What are your current goals?
I have registered for the Grand Fondo NY 100 miler bike course, and two half
Ironman triathlon races for this year. I am looking forward to doing them as my
bike endurance and the extend of how hard I can push have fully changed since I
started at CrossFit True.

How have your goals changed since you joined?
Initially it was all about weight loss, now it is everything else and absolutely not
about weight loss.

What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?
The way Mo organizes the workout. I was expecting injuries etc from what I have
heard long ago about Crossfit. Had a few friends that started about 15 yrs ago and
used to compare how many times they vomited during the workout. I wasnt sure
that was healthy even though I have biked myself to that point a time or two so
chose to stay away. I love and appreciate the level of instruction and input at
CrossFit True. It makes me feel safe and good about what I am doing while
allowing me to progress to better movements and heavier weights.

What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?
As of 19.2 I can work with the red (45lbs) bar and put at least 50 lbs on it, which
seemed far far away at the beginning when I was started doing everything on the
weightless lightest bar.

Say something else, Anything!
I am now more positive, happy and motivated due to CF True, Mo and everyone
else at the gym. Being a high energy high performance person, I have had my fair
share of ups and downs especially after the kids came into the picture and planning or doing anything of a complex scale went out of the door .
