What made you choose True Athletics?
I was rock climbing at the time and was looking for a change. With two kids I no longer had the luxury of spending hours at the gyms. I wanted to get stronger, but bootcamps didn’t appeal to me. I found myself leaving bootcamps more stressed than when I arrived. The climbing community is close knit and I really loved the idea of a CrossFit community, meeting people from all walks of life and finding a common bond.
How long have you been Training with us? Four years!!! I had my first official CrossFit class on August 14th. I know remember this because it is my dad’s birthday. He passed away 14 years ago and I think he would have LOVED Crossfit. He was a Marine and was always very fit.
How is your nutrition? Do you eat a certain way? If so when did you make the switch? I eat paleo-ish. I’m looking forward to our next life-style challenge. I need a re-boot.
Do you have a favorite exercise movement (gymnastics move, lift, etc)? BURPEES!!! Also, deadlifts, push ups, pull ups, and rope climbs.
How about a favorite WOD? Fran used to be my favorite, but now, I just don’t care.
What is your favorite workout song? I am a sucker for 80’s classics.
Have you changed at all physically or mentally since starting to train with us? I feel MUCH stronger What are your current goals? I would love to nail a free-standing handstand for more than 10 seconds and a 300# Deadlift. Why not?
What is your favorite color? Blue
What can you do now that you weren’t able to do before training at True Athletics? I can do a lot more pull ups and push ups than I could do before. I am also better at rowing. My double-unders still stink though.
Say something else, anything! I love True Athletics. The coaches are great, knowledgeable, funny, and real. The members are a great crew. All ages, all backgrounds, all really nice. I enjoy working out with everyone, working hard, and also just hanging out when the workout is done.
