What made you choose CrossFit True?
- Honestly, I needed a gym that offered a 5:30AM class and I stumbled on CF True during a google search…what a great stumble though.
How long have you been training with us?
- somehow it’s already been a year and a half
What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?
- I can finally link 25 double unders almost regularly. I also stayed consistent with showing up to class even when work was dragging me down.
When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?
- I’m a Tax Director and CPA for a firm up in Glastonbury. I also have the role of mom to a 6 year old and a 3 year old which means I don’t have a ton of free time. I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends over a cocktail and watching Bravo reality TV. I like to be outside… “in the sense that I like to drink on patios…”
How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?
- It could use some improvement. I meal prep lunch and plan out dinners on Sundays for the upcoming week but I tend to burn out over the weekends and stress eat. I am more aware of what I’m eating since I’ve joined CF True though!
What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises?
- double unders, toes to bar even though I’m still working on those, and deadlifts. You only asked for 3 but I’m throwing in wall walks too because I enjoyed those during the open.
What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)
- I like AMRAP workouts because I feel more willing to challenge myself rather than taking the easier way out to try and beat a clock
What about your favorite workout?
- I’m ready to tackle Annie again, I know I can do it RX this year
Any favorite workout songs?
- I’m an elder emo at heart so anything from Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday, etc.
Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?
- 100%. I don’t feel tired all of the time. I actually want to get out and move on the weekends rather than sit on the couch. I also finally feel confident in my own skin again. No one talks about how hard it is to watch your body physically change from/after pregnancy and how long it takes to be happy with your new normal
What are your current goals?
- I’m getting toes to bar this year…strict pull ups would be great too but one skill at a time.
How have your goals changed since you joined?
- My initial goal was to just show up and now I want to start learning and improving on the various CrossFit skills. I love watching people in the gym succeed on a skill they’ve been practicing.
What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?
- how much I would love it! I was worried this was going to be another failed attempt at joining a gym but I really enjoy the workouts, the coaches, the members, and the energy. It’s truly like no other gym I’ve tried before.
What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?
- I can run and continue through the rest of the workout. Don’t get me wrong, I still hate running, but I probably would’ve passed out after 400m before lifting anything afterwards.
