What made you choose CrossFit True?
I heard about CrossFit from my close friend who was training with her daughter and they really enjoyed it and gave it rave reviews. Decided to join their group and train together.

How long have you been training with us?
I started training in September 2021 and except for a few months break have been training twice a week

What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?
My proudest moment was doing what I thought was a pretty rigorous cardio workout and making it through it.

When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?
I am a scientist focused on cancer research for several decades. For the last 15 years I have worked for 3 different cancer foundations supporting their research efforts. I enjoy gardening and hiking for fun and more recently spending time with my new grandson.

How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?
To be honest my nutrition could be better but I do try to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and I like just about all of them. I think I am trying to eat healthier since joining CrossFit True. It is just the ice cream in the summer and all the goodies around the holidays that do me in!

What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises?
- All the different types and modifications of planks that I learned
- Bar presses which I never thought I would be able to do
- I like using the rower

What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)
I enjoy rounds for time and am so pleased when I make it to the end of the timer.

What about your favorite workout?
My favorite workout are strengthening my arms and any core body exercises.

Any favorite workout songs?
No favorite work out songs. To be honest I am so focused on the exercise I barely hear the songs playing in the background

Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?
In the past I joined other gyms and it took me a lot of mental energy to go and workout and train. At CrossFit True I get up early and look forward to training with Mo. Physically I feel stronger and it has helped me have more energy with other activities like hiking.

What are your current goals?
My current goals are to do more cardio workouts and exercises that will help combat the osteoporosis that I have developed.

How have your goals changed since you joined?
My goals have not really changed.

What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?
That I can get to CrossFit by 7 and do the training and feel invigorated for the rest of the day

What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?
I think I can lift heavier weights than I could before and I am a little more coordinated when I do certain exercises
