What made you choose CrossFit True?
A friend of mine was starting his fitness journey and I joined him to show support. I was not familiar with the crossfit experience and after researching I thought it would be a great challenge
How long have you been training with us?
I believe I’m close to 2 years now. Time fly’s when you’re having fun!!
What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?
Experiencing my first true games and the physical challenge of it along with the team approach.
When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?
I’ve been a Respiratory Care Practitioner for 43 years specializing in critical care and management. Within the last 6 months I have stepped back from that pace and now privately work within the field.
I enjoy gardening, traveling and socializing with a great crew of family and friends
How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?
Over the last 3 years I have focused on weight loss and have reached multiple goals throughout the journey. Over the last 6 months to a year I have converted to more proteins and overall eating healthy. The apple watch recently has truly helped me focus on exercise goals and calorie intake which lead to a 15 pound plus weight loss along with an increase in muscle mass and decrease in total body fat.
What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises?
Rowing
Box jumps
Shoulder presses
Dead lifts (working on them!!)
What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)
EMOM
What about your favorite workout?
I really enjoy the Saturday morning 815 class. From stretching to exercise it packs in a full hour of an excellent workout
–Any favorite workout songs?
I’m stuck in the 80’s!! Anytime one comes on I’m singing away … .especially when a good Jamiroquai song comes on. Unfortunately when the hard rock songs come on I start b…ching and complaining…..:)
Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?
Both actually. Physically I’ve developed more than I ever have going to a traditional gym I believe. I’ve stayed loyal to an incredible coach who has brought my shoulders and arms to a new strength I never thought I could imagine.
Mentally I am so much more confident in my physical appearance as being overweight and not in shape for many years took a toll. Surrounded by incredible individuals with no judgement and full of encouragement has been wonderful.. To hear anyone yell out your name during a workout to push you that little step….is moving.

1 pull up…..not assisted. Just 1
How have your goals changed since you joined?
Absolutely! I always went for the heavier weights, not fully understanding the steps and goal.
What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?
My first “Murph” and True game involvement. I wasn’t sure if I could complete, but your know what….I did fairly well for my age bracket!!
What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?
Deadlifts! And who knew I could lift a bar……over my head with weights on it. Who knew!!
