Athlete Spotlight: Andrea

What made you choose CrossFit True?

I moved back to the area a few years ago and started my Crossfit search.  I went to a few other gyms, but as soon as I met with Moe for my consultation, I knew Crossfit True was the gym for me! Plus, I got a 5-star recommendation from my old gym-mate Liz. 

How long have you been training with us?

I believe 3 years. Time flies when you’re having fun. 

What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?


When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?

By day, I work in the Environmental Health and Safety/Fire Life Safety field for a bank. By night I drive a sweet mini van, picking up and delivering my extremely high-energy children from one activity to the next. I love being their Mom. 

How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?

I recently started eating more vegetables thanks to Moe’s baked veggie tray pro tip.  So that’s been an improvement to my nutrition.  It’s a work in process. 

What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises? 

Power Clean, Push Jerks, and Box Jumps

What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)

Rounds for time 

What about your favorite workout?

My all time fav workout is Grace. 

Any favorite workout songs? 

Can’t say that I even notice music is playing when I workout. 

Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?

Both.  I have a better understanding of what good nutrition looks like, and I’ve learned it’s ok to scale. 

What are your current goals?

To continue to eat more green veggies!

How have your goals changed since you joined? 

For many years my goals in Crossfit were focused only on lifting heavier weights, now I focus on the movements more and weights I know I can handle. 

What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?

All the wonderful people that are members at True 

What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?

I feel fine now about retiring movements I used to be able to do and no longer feel comfortable doing. I learned that no one’s judging, and you can do you at Crossfit True.
