Athlete Spotlight: Morgan

What made you choose CrossFit True?

Before joining, I had decided I was ready to get back into fitness to take control of my health and a few days later I saw an ad for Crossfit True online and I joined without hesitation. I’m glad I did!

How long have you been training with us?

2 years

What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?

I am currently working through tendonitis in my left ankle. While I have good and not so good days, my ankle had improved some since my awesome instructor incorporated specific stretching techniques to stretch the muscle.

When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?

For work I am a Robotics Technician for Amazon. For fun I love to listen to and explore new music and try out new recipes I find on Youtube Shorts!

How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?

My nutrition is a work in progress but it has gotten better since joining Crossfit True. I’ve always had a sweet tooth and still do, but moderation is key. There is a physique I am working towards and I now understand the importance of incorporating enough protein in all of my meals. As with anything else, trial and error is a good thing, especially when trying out different eating plans. It gives me the opportunity to find out what works best for me.

What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises? 

Bicep curls, that tricep movement with the resistance band, and ab workouts

What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)

Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?

Yes, I’ve changed mentally. For me that is the first step and then everything else falls into place.

What are your current goals?

To transition into an athletic physique and complete 10-20 pull-ups in one set.

How have your goals changed since you joined? 

At first, I just wanted to lose weight in stubborn areas, but now that I have a mindset of anything being possible, I am absolutely certain I can have the real body I’ve created in my mind with specific features (8 pack abs, V-cut frame, defined muscles). Mindset is everything.

What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?

When I first joined and  participated in the group classes, the workouts were not intense like I thought it would be considering it is a Crossfit gym. I thought it would be like the competitions you see online. I was quickly reminded that we are all at different fitness levels and its best to move at a steady pace.

What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?

I can hang from a pull up bar close to a minute for a few sets
