Athlete Spotlight: Presephanie

What made you choose CrossFit True?

I was looking to get back into working out and wanted a coach/group setting for accountability. Conveniently I live 5 minutes away, that was a huge plus, especially when I was going to the 5:30am class 😛

How long have you been training with us?

I started  in August 2022

What has been your proudest moment in the past 90 days?

I wouldn’t say I have just one. The last 90 days have been so chaotic for me, I am most proud that I’ve stuck with training.

When you’re not at the gym, what do you do for work? What do you do for fun?

I am currently training to be a full-time manager at Barcelona. For fun I like to explore nature, cook, and travel as much as possible.

How is your nutrition? How has it changed since joining CrossFit True?

My nutrition is a roller coaster ride. It has improved immensely since joining the gym though. I started meal prepping after some nutritional meeting with Moe, and that was a game changer for me. It’s gotten so much easier for me to manage a more balanced diet that way.

What are your 3 favorite movements/exercises? 

I like working on squats, clean & jerks, and any dumb bell exercises.

What is your favorite style workout? (AMRAP, EMOM, Rounds for Time, etc)

AMRAP because I feel more comfortable to just go at the pace my body wants to without worrying about rushing for time.

What about your favorite workout?

I can’t say that I have a favorite workout! 

Any favorite workout songs? 

Anything upbeat, but I like hispanic music the most though

Have you changed physically or mentally since you’ve been working out with us?

Physically I have much more stamina and strength than I did this time last year. I’ve benefited mentally as well. Overall it’s a great stress reliever, and I have much more confidence than I did a year ago.

What are your current goals?

My current goals are to clean up my diet a bit more, and workout more often.

How have your goals changed since you joined? 

My goal when I joined was to get moving, and get active. Now I just want to eat better and get stronger.

What has been the biggest surprise since joining CF True?

I was nervous to join because crossfit seems so intimidating, but everyone at Crossfit True is ridiculously nice, and encouraging!

What can you do now that you couldn’t do before joining?

I can squat parallel now. I figured I would get stronger and that’s definitely happened, but the most impressive thing to me has been that my range of motion has improved!

I’m so happy I took a chance and started training here. It has had such a positive impact on my life (:
